"What You Don't Know Won't Hurt You"

"What you don't know won't hurt you." This is an often-quoted saying that some people live by.
A similar related saying is: "The truth hurts."
No one wants to get hurt by anything, and if something, even if true, causes hurt or pain, it is better not to know it. So some seem to say: "What you don't know won't hurt you."
But can one really isolate himself from the truth that hurts? Can one shield himself from the truth that brings pain? Can one live in an island paradise where only pleasure and happiness, but not pain and sadness, exist?
We look around and see beauty in the created world. We look around and we see ugliness in the world we have created.
Paradise is what God originally created for them He considered the pinnacle of His creation. But the Serpent around a tree deceived them into believing that there was something more desirable than the paradise they were placed in and that the One Who placed them there could be ignored or disobeyed.
They believed in that lie, and they got hurt big time and for ages, for themselves and their Descendants.
Since then lies and deceits have proliferated. Even more now, in the world we have created, in God's created world that we have changed.
As thinking beings, we must sift gold grains from sand; we must distinguish truth from lies.
Just like in primal days, lies are perpetrated by a powerful few withholding truths from the public mind alleging that the truth would hurt them, and instead, they present their lies as truth. The Serpent, by his lie spoken while coiled around a tree, led Man to death and destruction. The Truth, by giving His life while nailed to a tree, redeemed Man and offered him life and salvation.
But with his wiles and cunning, the First Liar and his cohorts are still at work, and working more ferociously, more fiercely. This is a fact, but many don't know it.
What you don't know won't hurt you?
Let both truths and lies be exposed as they are. And like the First Couple were free to choose, let their Descendants be free to choose, either for their own destruction, or for their own redemption.
One thing the Creator said: "I Am The Truth. He who follows Me will not walk in darkness. And those who follow Me I will set free."
Knowing Him Who Is Truth Himself will make us free. But we must align ourselves with Him. We must proclaim Him with faith and without fear.
