Being Transfigured in Christ

As Residents of the Plain, We Need to Go to the Mountain
We need to go to the mountain regularly (in prayer) to refresh us and be assured of what we are going to be. On the mountain is where we receive the Father’s admonition: “Listen to Him.”
Jesus brought the 3 disciples with Him on the mountain – for them to have a glimpse of Who He truly is, in all His transfiguration glory, and thus strengthen them in their faith when they go back to the plain – to see Him suffer and die, but which is not the end.
In the plain (daily events) we experience the struggles of life -– pain, suffering, conflicts, temptations. But it is on the mountain that we are nourished and get inspiration, strength and hope.
When we go down to the plain we can then deal with our struggles because we have experienced Him and seen His glory on the mountain.
When we listen to Him on the mountain and we go back to the plain, God continues to speak to us as we bear our cross on the similar path He trod, as His followers.
When we go down to the plain, we can spread the inspiration we have received on the mountain . . . that just as Christ suffered and died and rose and ascended to heaven, so shall we.
We shall also be transfigured in the end.
That is Christ's promise.#
