Sorry, Folks, But You Are Not God

At RCIA* last Saturday, our presenter, Mike M, talked about the Ten Commandments. He discussed how Moses received the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai and gave them to the Israelites written on two tablets of stone. Mike also explained each one of them briefly.
It just made me realize more how much the Commandments have been met with breach more than the observance.
Since the creation of man, people have been living either in accord with God's Commandments, or in violation of them, either intentionally or because of ignorance or human weakness.
God is aware of man falling and failing. He saw it from the time He created them. That's why He sent a Savior. There is always an opportunity for repentance and starting all over again for sinful man. His grace and mercy are always there. But only until the end of our earthly lives.
During these times when information is instantly available to all around the world, we see that even the Ten Commandments are being questioned or contradicted by those who think they are more intelligent than God.
Some individuals and organized groups have determined that some acts that have always been right are now not right anymore. Some acts that have always been wrong are now right or okay. Now good has become evil and evil has become good. This is now the secular culture having its sway on many.
Take, for example:
-- The idols of power, wealth and pleasure replacing the true God
-- The killing of innocent babies, in the womb has been legalized and is being promoted aggressively
-- Same sex "marriage" or "marriage" between two men, or two women has been legalized in many states, and homosexual behavior or sodomy is now accepted as moral acts.
-- Telling lies, gossiping, and bearing false witness that destroys others' reputation and good name are rampant both in low and high places.
-- Adultery is now not frowned upon as much as before.
It looks like man have now attempted to change the rules and are very aggressive about it. Like the Serpent contradicted God.
Living God's commandments is not always easy. But we must do it, if we are to be true children of God. We cannot please God and the devil.
His commandments are just that. They are commandments, not suggestions.
Much as we would like to, we cannot change God's rules.
Satan tried to, and still tries to. But he cannot succeed.
He, like us, are only creatures of God.
We are mortal.
Sorry, folks, but we are not God.
Only God is. #
